
Aleksandra Palkova
PhD Candidate in International Relations
PhD Candidate Aleksandra Palkova has an extensive background in European Union affairs, international relations, and security studies. She served as the Head of the EU Programme at the Latvian Institute of International Affairs, where she conducted research and oversaw projects under the Horizon Europe and Citizens, Equality, Rights, and Values (CERV) programs.
Currently pursuing a PhD in International Relations, Aleksandra also holds a senior research position at Riga Stradins University (RSU), where her work focuses on EU crisis management and security policy. Since 2021, she has been an Associate Researcher at the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR), contributing to analytical reports on energy, defense, climate change, and other pressing issues.
In addition to her research roles, Aleksandra has been a lecturer at Riga Stradins University and Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences since 2022, teaching both undergraduate and master's students.
From 2023 to 2024, Aleksandra worked as a researcher for the Political Committee of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (NATO PA), where she focused on critical Euro-Atlantic security challenges. Her work reflects a commitment to advancing knowledge and fostering dialogue on European and global security issues.
